Journeyman Electrician

Must have ND JW License. Experience in Oil field and Commercial construction is required. Be able to coordinate crews and be responsible for up to 3 apprentices. Must be responsible to keep up to date with any code changes required by the State of North Dakota.

Responsibilities

  • Complete required documentation of repairs and service information
  • Ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies and parts
  • Calibrate equipment to provided specifications
  • Troubleshoot problems and make timely repairs
  • Coordinate crews and manage up to 3 apprentices
  • Reads, interprets, and executes drawings, schematics, blueprints, and electrical code specifications to see layout of electrical equipment installations
  • Tests electrical equipment and parts for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
  • Installs, repairs, or replaces AC/DC motors and drives, transformers, motors, starters, relays, and hydraulic and gas electrical controls
  • Installs repairs, or replaces electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic, and line assemblies, lighting, and alternative electrical parts
  • Installs, repairs, or replaces generators and industrial storage batteries
  • Do preventive maintenance and testing of electrical systems (including power distribution equipment)
  • Installs electrical circuits, as well as panels, conduit, protecting devices, switches, and equipment required to accommodate the NEC
  • Works on electrical failures and replaces components wherever production time is often affected
  • Corrects connections and wiring on equipment controls wherever incorrect applications may cause harm and dangerous conditions
  • Conducts preventive and maintenance programs, and also keeps maintenance records
  • May install, maintain, and calibrate industrial equipment and connected devices
  • Complies with standards and procedures of industry, Safety Manual, and abide by safety rules.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician license required in state of North Dakota
  • 3-5 years of electrical experience
  • Valid driver’s license in state of practice
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, and kneel
  • Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools associated with electrical work
  • Ability to calculate basic mathematical problems
  • Willing to work overtime
  • Be able to teach upcoming apprentices


Apprentice Electrician

Must have basic knowledge of hand and power tools.  Must acquire ND Apprentice Card within 1 month of employment. Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

  • The ability and willingness to learn how to reads, interprets, and executes drawings, schematics, blueprints, and electrical code specifications to see layout of commercial electrical equipment installations
  • The ability and willingness to test electrical and equipment and parts for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
  • Help Journeyman with installs repairs, or replacing electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic, and line assemblies, lighting, and alternative electrical parts
  • Help Journeyman with preventive maintenance and testing of electrical systems (including power distribution equipment)
  • Help Journeyman work on electrical failures and replaces components wherever production time is often affected
  • Learn to install, maintain, and calibrate industrial equipment and connected devices
  • Complies with standards and procedures of industry, Safety Manual, and abide by safety rules.
